Happy Second Hand September! It’s no secret that I’m a big thrifter. I’ve always loved bargain hunting and thrift shopping – there’s just something so satisfying about finding an incredible deal that makes me love my clothes that much more. My love for thrifting started when I lived in Dublin because there were so many amazing spots and it’s really just taken off from there. I love that my clothes have these fun stories associated with them and that I can say I truly have a wardrobe that is totally unique.
Since I moved to Madison a few years ago, my favorite thrift store has hands down been St. Vinny’s. They’re a local chain of really well-done thrift stores that always have amazing finds. I’ve found so many of my favorite pieces of clothing and furniture at St. Vinny’s so when they reached out to do a little collaboration I was delighted! They’re a non-profit that I’ve been proud to support for years and already evangelize them to all my friends, so it’s nice to make it official!
The other thing that I love about St. Vinny’s is that it’s shopping I can feel good about. Thrifting is an amazing way to recycle clothes and reduce the impact the fashion industry has on the environment. But St. Vinny’s takes it a step further: all our purchases help the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, which brings food, clothes, medicine, and housing to our neighbors in need. I love that I can support an organization that does good and look good doing it.
I’ve been a long-time St. Vinny’s shopper so I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces from over the years and share how I’ve styled them for fall! Let me know which outfit is your favorite in the comments!
If you’re in the Madison area, I can’t recommend St. Vinny’s enough for your next thrift shopping trip! Whether you’re celebrating Second-Hand September or want to freshen up your fall wardrobe on a budget, they’ve got some great stuff. I have a rack of all my favorite pieces at the Willy Street store, if you’re interested in shopping my picks, and I also recommend checking out their Dig N Save location on Park for the major major deals (they sell clothes for $1 a pound!). Hope you have a fabulous weekend and get a little shopping in!
