When you live in a state that gets as cold as it does in Wisconsin (remember that -50 degree day?) there’s always the same sartorial dilemma: what the hell do I wear out in the winter? I want to look cute and sexy, but also I would like all of my limbs to remain attached to me.
Enter this incredibly warm off-the-shoulder sweater. I basically live in anything cozy and slouchy in the winter for going out and this sweater is perfect. I can wear it more covered up on my walk to the bar and then wear it more off the shoulder after I’ve warmed up with a few drinks. (Also, please note that these photos were taken on a day when it was literally 5 degrees so this sweater has indeed been field tested.)
Off the Shoulder Sweater from H&M (here it is on Poshmark for $10 less than I paid for it), High-Waisted Jeans from H&M, Suede Booties from Vince, Earrings & Necklace from Kendra Scott, Watch from House of Ginkgo
I wore this sweater out on my birthday with a gold metallic mini skirt and it crushed, so I’m definitely excited to wear this into Spring, too. Transitional dressing in Wisconsin is mostly made up of everyone pretending it’s warmer than it is, but jokes on them since now I’ll actually still be warm when it snows in April (this is a joke omg please don’t).
A side note, but I’ve also been living in these jeans from H&M. I usually avoid buying inexpensive jeans since they never look good on me and fall apart immediately, but these have actually held up pretty well over the last few months and were good in a pinch since my go-to pair finally developed a giant hole in the butt. Classy.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this outfit since I’ve been sitting on these photos for ages and am trying to get back in the swing of posting more often. Let me know if you have any other go-to styles for going out in the ungodly cold, I’d love to hear!
